How to Setup FRITZ Mesh Network

  1. Wi-Fi is strongly recommended or any internet connection to set up Mesh repeater. Connect your computer to the box along with Wi-Fi connection.
  2. If your computer has a Mesh Master already, Clear them.

  4. There is an option called ‘Mesh Networking’ on this menu. Click on the option.
  5. After this step click on ‘Mesh Settings.’

If you want to connect the network cable to your FRITZ! Box, the following steps need to be followed-
  1. Click on the ‘via LAN’ option.

  3. Connect the cable directly to the LAN port or LAN port on Mesh Master or through a switch.

How to Update FRITZ FIRMWARE

If you have guests who want access to your internet, FRITZ! Box has a solution. The guests won’t have access to the home network but with FRITZ! Box you get extreme security and captive portal to allow guests to have access.
Follow these steps below to set up guest access-

Why Guest Network
  1. To use private Wi-Fi access, a strong password is essential. There are encryption methods namely WPA2 and WPA2. Transmission of data through guest access can be carried out with these methods. Your friends can use entirely private Wi-Fi. People who visit your house will be happier when they have access to your internet.
  2. When we use a public hotspot, a password is not cardinal. During this case, data is dispatched without any encryption.
  3. To get into a guest access card, your Wi-Fi must be on.
  4. Those devices that fall under guest access will automatically show the IP settings.
  5. You cannot set up guest access in an operating mode.
  6. If your FRITZ! Box is already using a third-party connection, then the guest access will be denied completely.
  7. Various settings are not available in Mesh Repeater mode. FRITZ! Box adopts this setting.
  8. Several FRITZ! Box functions like IPTV playback will not be available for guest access.

Stepwise description of guest access along with password settings are as follows-

  1. Click on the option ‘Wi-Fi’ or ‘Wireless’ in FRITZ! Box.
  2. Select ‘Guest Access.’
  3. Enable the option.
  4. You can give secure internet access to your friends and relatives.
  5. Click on the ‘Private Wi-Fi guest access’ option.
  6. Give a name to the SSID, so that your friends will recognize your network.
  7. Select a method by clicking on ‘encryption.’
  8. Give a suitable password of 8 to 63 characters. You can use numbers, letters of low-case, and high-case.

Stepwise description of guest access without a password is as follows-

  1. Click on the option ‘Public Wi-Fi hotspot’ and enable it.
  2. Give a name to the SSID, so that your friends will recognize your network.
  3. Click on the option ‘Additional Settings’ below.
  4. If you would like to know who is getting access to your device, click on ‘Enabling the push service.’ This will give you notifications of who is gaining access to your device.
  5. Your guests can see the captive portal if you enable the option ‘Display Captive Portal.’
  6. You can set access which will automatically disable or permanently enable guest access.
All the guest’s devices connected to your internet connection share the same bandwidth. You can also limit your guest access bandwidth through the following steps-
  1. Click on the ‘Internet’ option in the FRITZ! Box.
  2. There is an internet menu. Click on ‘Filters.’
  3. Click on the option stating, ‘Reserve bandwidth for the home network’ and put a limit on the bandwidth that is allowed to be used by your guests.
  4. Save the updates by clicking on ‘Apply.’

HOW TO CHANGE THE NAME OF WIRELESS NETWORK SSID ON FRITZ REPEATER 3000

SSID is the name given to a Wi-Fi network that can be changed using factory settings. You can prefer switching off to unique names for your network by following the steps below –

  1. Click on the option ‘Wireless’ in the user interface.
  2. There is an option ‘Radio Network’ on the menu.
  3. On the space stating “Name of the wireless radio network (SSID)”, enter a unique name.
  4. Save the settings by clicking on the option ‘Apply.’
